Installation of long-span corrugated soil-steel culvert, Butler County Culvert Material Selection SpreadsheetWe have created an Excel spreadsheet to assist in the culvert durability design and structural design of metal and concrete conduits. This spreadsheet can be downloaded by clicking here. As a supplement to the above spreadsheet we have provided a Power Point presentation that covers some of the basics of culvert material selection. To download this presentation, click here. Culvert Design FlowchartWe have created a flowchart to assist in culvert design. The flowchart is set up in a step by step format and it makes references to the L&D manual. It is available in Acrobat format and can be download by clicking here. Box Culvert HeadwallsUPDATE 10/20/06: The design data sheets (dgn and pdf) have been updated. The updated version can be downloaded below. UPDATE 9/26/06: The plan insert sheets and design data sheets have been updated to MicroStation Version 8. Also, the Bar List Excel spreadsheet has been updated to fix a calculation error. The updated versions can be downloaded below. We have created plan insert sheets (dgn), design data sheet (dgn), and a MS Excel sheet (for bar schedules) to facilitate the design of box culvert headwalls. Supplemental Storm Sewer Design Guidance & ExampleWe have created supplemental storm sewer design guidance in an attempt to clarify the process. The document simplifies the design of storm sewer and provides all of the equations that are used for the design.
